Dekalb Satellite Location
Illinois Aviation Academy (IAA) is excited to announce the opening of our new satellite base at DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport! With FAA approval, this expansion strengthens our commitment to accessible and high-quality flight training across Illinois. Located at the vibrant DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport, this new location serves the general aviation community and provides an ideal environment for flight training. We’ve added two training aircraft to our DeKalb fleet, ready to support students in achieving their aviation training goals.
Facility Highlights:
DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport is a well-equipped general aviation airport with services designed to support smooth, efficient training sessions. Students benefit from facilities such as:
- Multiple Runways: A primary paved runway for advanced maneuvers and a secondary for practical landing practice.
- Low Traffic Density: Ideal for beginners, the airport’s manageable traffic allows students to focus on building skills without the high congestion of larger airports.
- Controlled and Uncontrolled Airspace Training: While DKB is located in Class G airspace, its proximity to Class D and Class C airspace means students can gain experience with towered airport operations as they progress.
